Q. Will Avendus visit my campus?

A. At Avendus we recruit Campus Associates from premier educational institutions. You will be intimated by your campus placement cell if we are recruiting from your campus.

Q. What should I do if Avendus is not visiting my campus?

A. Go through our website. We have tried to make it as comprehensive as possible – learn more about our programs and when you find something that you are interested in, apply online!

A. Our Campus Associate Program is a full-time program through which we recruit final year MBA students for our business verticals such as Investment Banking, Credit Solutions and Wealth Management.

A. At Avendus, we provide customized solutions in the area of financial services to high-performing entrepreneurs and corporates. Mentioned below is a summary of some of our business verticals.

Investment Banking: Deliver superior strategic advice and services for mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and private equity (PE) syndication.

Q. Can I apply to more than one business vertical?

A. Yes, you can. If we have opened applications for an Associate role in more than one business vertical, you may apply to multiple verticals. But you’ll be asked to indicate your preference.

Q. What kind of learning opportunities does Avendus provide Associates?

A. To equip our campus associates and reinforce critical knowledge and skills, we run a comprehensive induction program. The program is conducted by a mix of in-house and external faculty and focuses on giving you an understanding of our business, culture, processes and application of concepts.
We also believe that the best learning is always on the job – more so in a business like ours. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from clients, investors and counter-parties. In addition, you will receive hands on coaching and feedback from core team members. Classroom training sessions are also organized to help you upskill.

A. Yes. We have had employees moving across business verticals and these movements are governed by our internal transfer policy.

Q. What are the potential locations where candidates will be based?

A. We have offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, London and New York. Campus Associates will be posted in either Mumbai, Delhi or Bengaluru.

Q. What is the career progression for students joining from campus? What is the hierarchy in the firm?

A. We have a relatively flat structure. Candidates joining us from campus join us at an Associate level.

The progression from then on goes as per the levels mentioned below:

  • Associate Vice President
  • Vice President
  • Director
  • Executive Director
Q. What is the recruitment process like?
  • Our recruitment dates are synced with campus placement schedules. Your placement cell will let you know when you can apply
  • Once applications are received, we shortlist candidates based on metrics, which are common across campuses
  • Post shortlisting candidates, we assign buddies to each of the shortlisted candidates. Shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to interact with Avendus campus representatives to get a better perspective about the firm and get answers to other questions that they may have. Look out for call/email from your buddy!
  • On Day -1, we like to meet and interact with students to get to know them better as well as understand how keen they are on joining us
  • On Day 0, we have a multi-panel personal interview process. Candidates must clear all rounds to be selected. We generally have a two/three-round process; however, this may vary based on our requirement
Q. How do you shortlist candidates? Do I need relevant work experience to apply?

A. Once applications are received, we shortlist candidates based on metrics, which are common across campuses. Relevant work experience is not a prerequisite to get shortlisted. We hire freshers as well.

Q. What will a typical interview be like?

A. At Avendus, we invest a lot of time and effort in our campus recruitment process. You will be interviewed by senior leaders at Executive Director/ Director / Vice President levels. While there is no interview template, it can last between 20 – 30 mins and will comprise a mix of technical, behavioural and logical reasoning questions.
